Our Fairytale Wedding

We've been anxiously awaiting this video, and we're so excited to say it was well worth the wait! 

Our wedding may not have been the fairytale portrayed on the Disney big screen, but it's our fairytale all the same. 

Our outdoor southern wedding didn't go anything like we'd planned-- we had to move the ceremony time up in order to accommodate an impending storm and usher everyone under a (very) last minute tent addition when the storm graciously made it's appearance the moment we were announced as man and wife. We scratched the photo booth, guest book, and greeting table, as well as all the table decorations that had disappeared at some point during the storm, move all our food, drink, and dessert stations under the tent as best we could, and take pictures during our reception once the storm finally passed. 

It wasn't perfect-- but it was ours. 

At the end of the day we were surrounded by our loved ones as we became man and wife. We shared a meal, fellowship, and a little bit of my home with everyone we care most about. We are so thankful for every guest and all their help on our big day. There truly wasn't a single person in attendance who didn't help us in some way! From our caterer who stood in the rain to serve everyone so that all the food AND our guests could stay dry to our guests who attempted to re-decorate our tables while I attempted to dry my hair in someone's bathroom at the Inn. 

We are thankful.

As a southern woman (and after the excitement of the "I do's" of course) I most looked forward to sharing a meal with my new family. So many of our guests discovered the secret to cracking open crabs with a wooden mallet and the joy in the savory taste of southern cuisine-- thank you for riding out the storm to uncover this simple pleasure. 

Thank you for breaking bread with us. 

Just like our big day, our relationship is riddled with trials and storms. It rarely goes as planned, everything changes, and we are far from perfect. But as we hope you can see through this video-- we choose happiness and laughter, forgiveness and family. 

Because of grace, we are blessed beyond measure.
